Why is this blog called "Ranger Sarah"?
I began this blog in March 2005 when I was a Park Ranger at Fort Larned National Historic Site in Larned, Kansas, to record all of the crazy things park visitors said to me. Pretty soon, however, I started art history grad school, and this blog became a crafty/knitty sort of beast. I now work in publishing, but still try to escape the cubicle for the great outdoors every once in a while.
Some Things About Me
1. I drink a lot of tea, mostly strong Irish breakfast. I never really got into coffee, but I drink it a few times a year.
2. I delight in round numbers and multiples of 5. I was born on 5-25 and married on 10-20.
3. I learned to knit in the year 2000.
4. I have 5 piercings in my ears.
5. After running my first and only half marathon, I sat down and declared that I would never, ever, run a full marathon.
6. My favorite things to cook are giant batches of things that last a long time: granola, soup, oatmeal, etc.
7. I'm pretty sure my favorite movie is Cold Mountain.
8. My favorite band is Crooked Still.
9. I can't stand anything scented, like perfume or lotions.
10. That being said, my favorite scent is vanilla.
